Meet Mia…about a year ago I posted this blog about her.
I was so glad that she contacted me about doing some family pictures for them before they make their way back to Guam.
I had offered to do them over a year ago, but the timing was not good. She wasn’t feeling well and she had to attend so many appointments.

Mia found out in 2009 that she had lung cancer. No known history of smoking, but somehow this is her thorn in the flesh. Over two years ago the cancer metastasized into her brain.
I did a little reading on her condition, many say the survival rate is pretty slim. It was hard pressed on my heart to pray. My heart broke. I had such a hard time thinking of what would happen… with her kids, her husband – But here she is a little over a year now. Mia is doing a lot better. She still has a long way to go.

One thing that has not changed is the grip Mia has on the Lord. Her and Gil’s (her hubby) faith and trust in the Sovereignty of God in the midst of uncertainty is encouraging…and even more has challenged me in my own relationship with the Lord. It has caused me to pray harder, to have my kids pray for others needs, to speak the gospel to my little ones even more and consider others more and what they are going through. My world became a little smaller as you would say, and God’s kingdom became bigger and much more my top priority.
You may ask the question how and why Mia and Gil are able to have joy and praise God…because they know He is faithful.

Will you pray with me for Mia, Gil and their boys?
