34 weeks and counting….

So much has been happening all around us. We got soccer, homeschooling, the end of the photo shoot season for me, and a baby growing with supposedly 6 weeks to go, though I feel like he/she is going to come sooner. Baby is about 4 3/4 pounds like a cantaloupe and is almost 18 inches long.  On top of that, gestational diabetes has landed in my life. I thought I’ve done everything correctly, exercised four times a week, ate pretty healthy, but some just have things like this that sneak up on them. So my life has been a routine of eating six times a day and poking fingers four times a day to monitor glucose levels. You got to do what you go to do to have a healthy baby.

Home schooling was something that I knew I wanted to try with our kids…and of course fear crossed my mind. How well will I do with this? Will Chloe enjoy it? Are we going to butt heads?!?! How’s Walle going to play with all of this happening? So far, it’s been awesome! We go to school one day a week where we learn the curriculum together for three hours. Then each week day we go over the lesson over again. The great part of going over it during the weekdays, is that Walle gets a chance to learn the curriculum with her. To my surprise, both Chloe and Walle are soaking up all the information like sponges. I’ve been answering funny questions that I never thought I had to answer to a 4 year old and an almost 3 year old. Lots of  the things they are learning are for memory and they don’t quite have to know what everything is…but I’ve come to experience these past two weeks that questions are being brought up by toddlers that require explanations.

Chloe: “I think the Pilgrims came to Plymouth Massachusetts in an airplane…right mom? Because the story says they landed in Plymouth.”

Walle: “What’s an axial skeleton?” (Incase you didn’t know the answer…it’s made up of your cranium, vertebrae, ribs and sternum.)

Excited to see how this is all going to play out when #3 arrives…

Enjoy the pics of Walle….stylin his breaker outfit from the 80’s era and a head full of hair!
