Preparing, Packing and Waiting….Walking…Waiting….Walking
November 2nd came and contractions got stronger at a visit with my pre natal doctor.
So I raced home…well not really…I drove like an abiding good citizen and made it home safe and sound.
Had lunch, got the kids lunches ready, and started my clean up duty. Dishes in the dishwasher, sweep and vacuum the floors..no mopping that day, try to get the kids to nap, deal with Chloe’s fever, prepare a list to check off on what to bring to the hospital, gather the baby items first, pack baby items in a bag, gather my items and then finally pack those in a bag.
In between all of those, trying to count contractions, and take a breather when pain was strong and call Shay to say “So what time can you get home?”
My mom finally makes it down….after my sister lets her know that she was supposed to be with me already. She hadn’t received my text messages from the night before and earlier that day. My mother in law makes us dinner and takes the kids to spend the night at her house and we call the hospital to find out what we need to do if contractions start to get close.
The hospital call us in and we get there and we wait. We walked and walked around circles on the labor/delivery department for an hour. Contractions were consistent walking….but then subsides when lying in bed. Told to go home and so I make my way to Alberto’s for a Carne Asada burrito fix at 10pm at night.
Here we are November 3rd and we are still waiting. Tomorrow will be November 4. Shay’s birthday. So what shall we do from now till then….wait, walk, wait and walk…
Philippians 4:6
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
