Bucket List
I always thought it was funny to have a bucket list…maybe because I never thought I could accomplish a lot of the things I was putting in there. Well maybe some of it was kinda ridiculous, but for the most part, I just didn’t think I could do them. I used to think I wasn’t going to be able to graduate high school. I know, silly, huh!?!? Then I thought, there’s just no way I was going to make it through college. And how about traveling the world; getting married; having children, raising children…the list goes on.
Well here I am, 2012…it will be 16 years now since I graduated from high school, about 6 years since I actually received my college diploma, over 10 years since marrying the best dude the Lord could give me, and hello three children in the past 6 years. So as it goes, here’s my bucket list so far:
Learned how to drive a stick shift.
Traveled outside the country to these countries: Thailand, Japan, Canada, Mexico
Lived in another state: Chicago, Illinois
Tried unusual foods in Thailand and Philippines: Fresh River Shrimp that were still alive, fried grasshoppers, and dog.
Became a photographer: Never thought this would ever happen.
Snowboarding…even snowboarded while pregnant with Oliver. Not a recommended thing, but it was fun.
To weigh under 200 lbs…I’ve struggled with weight most of my life. Me and food have a love/hate relationship. But then I love cooking…
Became a runner: I was the one who would do everything I could to avoid running in high school. Many of my classmates can attest to this. And now I can’t get running out of my system.
Ran a 5k. Yup, I did it. Took me a long couple of days to finally sign my name up for the Carlsbad 5000…but I was so glad that I did. During the race you feel that pain and agony of are you ever going to get to the finish line…and then you turn the last corner and see everyone cheering you on. So you speed up and put all of your energy to cross the finish line. Best part was seeing my family on the side right as I was crossing the finish line with signs saying “Go Mama!”
Driving across the country with 3 kids ages 5 and under…we are embarking on a 2 week trip this summer visiting the following states. Utah, Colorado, Kansas, Illinois, Tennessee, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Arizona. Should be pretty exciting and crazy. We’ll update you all on each leg of the drive.
Future Bucket List:
Travel to Greece, France, Ireland, Korea, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Belgium.
Run a 10k and possibly a half-marathon.
To own a classic VW bug.
To enjoy the taste of red wine.
My website…new look…thanks to my techy of a husband.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this one, Ate!!!
