Birthday Week….

It’s funny to think back in the days of my youth…I hated it that my birthday was during Labor Day weekend. I was one of those kiddos who always looked forward to someone having their birthday during the school day and their mommy’s would come in during class and bring some kind of goodies for the whole class. I LOVED when they brought chocolate cupcakes with sprinkles! Then I would think…but I never get to have my mom come and surprise me with cupcakes at school. Yup, that was me, the kid with the birthday during Labor Day weekend.

Again, that was back in the days of my youth…and now that I turned the big 34 I look at it differently. I get to celebrate for a whole weekend and sometimes the whole week. My birthday landed on a Thursday this year…so from Thursday until Monday(Labor Day) it was PARTY PARTY PARTY. No…not like drinking my brains out or like that. Just celebrating life. Oh maybe you are saying because I’m 7 months pregnant and no drinking for me. Well even if I wasn’t 7 months pregnant…I wouldn’t be drinking my life away. I enjoy being sober thank you very much!

Here’s the run down of my birthday:

Thursday:

• Woken up by my kiddos greeting me with birthday love and hugs. Nope Shay wasn’t there to instruct them. They simply remembered. Can’t beat that!
• Cleaned the house while my sister watched the kiddos. Cleaning makes me happy.
• Hugged by my sister…YES, something she doesn’t do very often.
• Shay came home from work…greeted me with birthday cards from him and the kiddos.
• Chloe asking me “Where’s your birthday cake?” She doesn’t realize I’m on a restricted sugar diet during this pregnancy.
• Dinner at El Pollo Loco (This is birthday dinner on a budget. BUT WE LOVE EL POLLO LOCO)
• And off to Walmart we went…bought some storage bins and pajamas for the kids.
• After kids were in bed…ate a couple of pieces of dark chocolate from FRANCE brought back by one of the high school students I work with @ church.

Friday:

Game Night with some fine people

Saturday:

• Birthday Pancake breakfast made by hubby.
• Napped, napped, napped.

Sunday:

• Church
• went to another friends birthday party
• Hung out with a fine friend and her kiddos while Shay went to a Fantasy Football Meeting.

Monday:

• Morning breakfast made by hubby.
• Shay and Walle (Guy time at Lowes) buying me a new kitchen faucet
• Me and Chloe (Girl time) painting our toe nails and doing her make up.
• Shay and kids installing my new kitchen faucet
• Kids napping
• Birthday Dinner with family….consisting of shrimp, scallops, almond crusted fish, steaks, green and white asparagus, artichokes, lumpia, and home made coconut  ice cream, and peach ice cream

I would say that it was a very successful birthday celebration. Enjoy the pictures of my handy hubby and his little sidekicks.
