How is it that we decide that two major events were to happen in our house this past week?
Both of them dealing with our kiddos. No Walle did not decide that he would jump the picnic table but maybe that will be in our near future! No, it wasn’t that Chloe decided that she is going to be turning the age of 21 by next week, though she has mentioned that she is already the age of 29 a few weeks back. 🙂
Actually the major events that have happened in their live (but maybe more traumatic to us our parents…but maybe more for me as their mama…one who has carried them inside me for a whole 9 months and then nursed them during sleepless nights) Walle’s first official hair cut and Chloe got a real big girl bed…a full size big girl bed. Well it was also Chloe’s first official haircut…but it wasn’t so dramatic as Walle’s. The pictures will tell you why. She only had it trimmed.
Walle cried his eyes out even with a sucker bribe from a kind nice barber Jason from Del’s Barber Shop in Escondido. I think Walle just didn’t like the noise clippers made. But Walle’s haircut turned out really good. He will no longer be mistaken to be a baby girl. He even remembered that the kind barber gave him a yellow sucker. We’ll for sure go back to see them. They even gave Walle a certificate for officially crossing over to being a big boy and had his lock of hair taped to it. 🙂
Now onto the big sister! Shay’s been wanting to get Chloe a big girl bed. She had moved from crib to toddler bed and now a real FULL size bed. She even picked out her sheets. You’ll never guess that she picked pink with princess all over it. We had to make a deal and got a little say on what kind of comforter to get…so we went with a pink one with white dots. She was so excited to be in it and was actually so eager to sleep in it.
Is it possible that they can grow up this fast? How come I can’t make it slow down? It’s like that movie Father of the Bride…for so long he’s always saw her a little girl…and now our baby girl…5lbs 12oz we took home is now over 3 feet and has a bed that is more than 5 times her size. During breakfast this morning she asked, “Mama, do your feet touch the end of your bed.” I said, “Nope.” She then replies, “Mine doesn’t anymore!” Then I think it won’t for awhile, but then again, it’s just around the corner.
