This week’s I Heart Faces theme is “Photojournalism”. This shot was taken the last day I saw my grandma. She passed away 3 days later short of turning 88 years old. The great memory that is left behind this photo is that very day she actually remembered who I was and smiled when she called out my name. A long life well lived for almost 88 years…10 children, 32 grandchildren, and so far 23 great-grandchildren.
A life well lived and legacy that will go on for ages….

I am such a sucker for hands. they tell a story, (my photography teacher told us once in class… and I understood what she meant.) my favortie tina modotti image is of the farmer’s hands 🙂
This is an amazing photo. Wow. I’m so sorry you lost your grandma (((hugs))). This would get my vote though they said it had to have a human face showing. 🙁 Thank you for sharing. This is such a powerful image.
These are absolutely wonderful. What special, breathtaking moments. I love photographing hands as well.
I’m sorry about the loss of your grandmother, but you have beautiful photos of her that I’m sure you will cherish.
Stunning and poignant
These are beautiful…
I’ll never forget the moment before my grandmother died, when she reached for my hand and told me again and again that she loved me: “I love you, I love you, I love you…” She’d never said it like that, so desperate, so much. It was as if she regretted not having said it enough. That hurt more than her going.
Treasure these. What a poignant entry.
